Re: SPL NVDA add-on: 22.03 and beyond, end of support for Windows 7 and 8.x
Hi all, I think this might be the last post on this forum for a while: version 22.03.1 of StationPlaylist add-on is now being offered on community add-ons website and via Add-on Updater. Again thank you for all your feedback for these years. And with that, Joseph Lee is signing out (until next time...). Cheers, Joseph

Re: SPL NVDA add-on: 22.03 and beyond, end of support for Windows 7 and 8.x
Hi all, Good news: not all is lost - apart from limitations on some commands, you will be able to perform Studio add-on commands while focused on Studio and other apps. Cheers, Joseph

Re: SPL NVDA add-on: 22.03 and beyond, end of support for Windows 7 and 8.x
Hi, Another follow-up (I know I’m writing a lot today): this is to notify you that the upcoming stable version of the add-on will be the final version to support Studio releases earlier than 5.31; I advise upgrading to at least Studio 5.40 if possible. Cheers, Joseph

Hi, Another critical update: due to security concerns, the command to open the add-on user guide using the default web browser (SPL Assistant, Shift+F1) will be removed from SPL Assistant layer. I will provide a link to open the user guide from the add-on readme instead (this change also allows future maintainers to change the user guide link if needed). I will provide details once the next stable version of the add-on is released. Cheers, Joseph

Hi all, A critical update: due to possible security issues, SPL add-on 22.03 (or the next stable version) will not let you perform Studio commands if NVDA is running in secure mode (I'll provide details on these issues once the next version is released). Cheers, Joseph

Re: an issue with spl add on
Hi, Eh? Do you mean Control+NVDA+3 to read the third column in Remote VT playlist viewer? Alt+NVDA+3 is used to toggle Cart Explorer in main playlist viewer. Cheers, Joseph

Roger Stewart
Thanks very much for all you have done
with this add on over the years. I use it once a week, and a few
times a year, it gets used an extra bit. Tonight will be one of
those. I'll be thinking of you and all the times I helped you with
it in the early days as I use it to run my New Year's Eve show.
Happy New Year, and good luck in your
future work.
Roger

StationPlaylist add-on 22.01 released, final planned release from me
#addonrelease
Hi all, StationPlaylist add-on 22.01 is now available (manual download for now): https://github.com/josephsl/stationPlaylist/releases/download/22.01/stationPlaylist-22.01.nvda-addon
IMPORTANT: this is the final version of SPL add-on from me (for now).
I would like to thank everyone for providing feedback on this add-on for the last eight years or so. Without your feedback, the add-on would not be what it is today. Cheers, Joseph

IMPORTANT: SPL add-on 22.01 will be the final release to support Studio versions earlier than 5.40
Hi all, The following applies if you are running Studio 5.31 and earlier: The next stable version of the Studio add-on (22.01) will be the final release to support Studio 5.3x. This is so that the code can be simplified for future maintainers. In case no-one volunteers to maintain the add-on past the day NVDA 2022.1 is released, I will release a version of the add-on in late 2022 that will drop support for Studio 5.3x i.e. another long-term support (LTS) series; if there will be the next LTS series, updates for LTS releases must be installed manually. Cheers, Joseph

Re: SPL add-on 21.11 released

SPL add-on 21.11 released

IMPORTANT NOTICE on SPL suite 6 and NVDA: support will be limited, screen review usage is required for some tasks, future of the SPL add-on
Hello all, After testing SPL suite (mostly Studio) 6 and looking at life choices ahead, it appears I need to make the difficult decision of providing a limited support for Studio 6. As much as I wished to provide a more complete support for broadcasters upgrading to Studio 6, due to a combination of layout changes, accessibility issues, and what I need to do in life right now, I felt it would be best to provide enough support so folks can run their shows. Therefore:
Hope this helps. Cheers, Joseph

Re: StationPlaylist add-on 21.08
#addonrelease
Hi all, Looks like I'll be busy with SPL 6 support this coming week - I can confirm status bar announcement problem, caused by items having no labels/names with names drawn to the screen. This, along with support for Track Tool and Creator 6, will be high priority for me. I'll release SPL add-on 21.11 with these changes in the next few days. In the meantime if you are producing holiday shows, please stay on 5.50 until SPL add-on 21.11 is released. Cheers, Joseph

Hi, As soon as Studio 6 demo version shows up, I’ll do some investigations, perhaps early next week (not this week as I’m out of town for an academic conference). Cheers, Joseph

Re: StationPlaylist add-on 21.08

Hi, If this happens with Studio 5.5, then I’ll look into it today; if it is 6.0 specific issue, then I may need to delay SPL add-on 21.11 release to look into it next week. I know that on my system, NVDA does announce automation and other status messages (note that you must be running NVDA 2021.2 or later to use SPL add-on 21.10 or later). Cheers, Joseph

Hi joseph
Regarding spl addon 21.1 release, it does not seem to announcements such as “automation on/off” which other add-ons did. Is this due to the actual program studio 6.0 or an nvda issue
Thanks
